About Erie Gives

Erie Gives will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.    The minimum gift is $25. There is no limit to the amount of money you may give. There is no limit on the number of organizations you can donate to in a transaction.

Autism Society enables families to find a network of support in their local community.  Autism Society is in the trenches with families providing referrals, mentors, education, and most importantly a community of understanding.

Autism Society helps families and individuals through….

  • Support with information resources
  • Social by creating autism-friendly activities for families to build relationships by including neurotypical sibling and encourage interaction
  • LEGO Social Club to improve social interaction and communication skills
  • Friends & Pals Teen Club to build independent social skills
  • Education by providing resources to navigate services and a conference via the annual Autism in Our Community Event.
  • Autism Society NWPA Scholarship Fund to provide personal and future career benefits
  • Bridge to Success collaboration with Gannon University to offer job prep training for teens and young adults
  • Grants to increase services and resources

Autism by the Numbers…

  • 1 in 68 children have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • 2,108 individuals in Erie, Crawford, Venango, and Mercer County have been identified with ASD
  • 5,281 adults in Pennsylvania are on the autism spectrum; estimated by 2020 36,000 adults in Pennsylvania
